Ballet is one of the most demanding but also one of the most enjoyable dance forms ever created, providing benefits such as good posture, discipline and confidence building. We run Royal Academy of Dance Graded and Vocational classes encouraging the joy of movement in children from 3 years of age at our studio in Beckenham, Kent. We offer annual outings to the Royal Opera House, hold workshops and other dance related events.
Grade 8 Performance
On Saturday 7th March at 5.30pm a few of our grade 8 exam students will be performing their work prior to their exam the following Friday. Students and parents at the school from grade 4 upwards are invited to watch this performance at the URC hall This is an excellent opportunity to see the highest grade exam in action. Successful completion of the higher grades including grade 8 leads to UCAS points which are on the minds of many from age 16 upwards! Please collect a form at the school from Monday 23rd February onwards to book seats.
Very exciting news, our next production will be the Nutcracker performed at The Barn Theatre, Oxted on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th October. An opportunity for all students from Primary level and above to perform in our sparkling new production.
Baby Ballet Classes Monday & Saturday.
We hold classes starting at 3 years of age for pre school ballet on Monday at 3.15-4.00pm or Saturday at 2.00-2.45pm. It is an excellent introduction into the structure of ballet lessons, lots of images and themes are involved in the class, designed so that they are performing ballet exercises in a manner that is fun and stimulating. These are informal, imaginative ballet classes taken by a fully qualified and registered teacher. Children may attend a trial lesson on one of these days, please contact the school for further information.
