Janie has been running her own school for 25 years. After training locally, she qualified as a teacher with the Royal Academy of Dancing (LRAD). Whilst working for Madeline Sharp, Janie continued her training with Ruth French. She also danced professionally during 1966-7. In addition, she served on the RAD's executive committee, and was Secretary/Treasurer for the Surrey Region. Qualified in (and has also taught) Body Mechanics Therapy since 2001.
Nicky is a graduate of the Dance School of Scotland, Arts Educational School, London, and the Royal Academy of Dance. She has taught for several years for the Arts Educational School Saturday School in London and has been Head of Dance at Ibstock Place School, London for the past six years.
Sarah has worked in a a variety of community and educational settings including Head of Dance at Ibstock Place School, Roehampton and training primary school teachers to teach Dance as part of the National Curriculum. She also completed a Professional Diploma in Community Dance Studies from Laban. She is currently a Dance Officer for the Department of Learning at the English National Ballet. Sarah was a pupil of Janie᾿s from age 4 until leaving for University.
Kate was a student at our school from the age of 7. She starred in the ballet Parky and passed her Grade 8 in 2003. She then attended The Centre Performing Arts College and is now a freelance dance teacher of Ballet, Tap and Modern.
Cliodna studied at the Yehudi Menhuin School for five years with Ruth Nye. She was recently awarded a Mmus degree in Advanced Performance from the Royal College of Music having earlier graduated with a 1st class honours Bmus. She has won many awards and continues to give concerts both solo and with her trio. We are extremely fortunate to welcome her to the school.
Andrea has a Mmus degree in Piano accompaniment from Trinity College of Music, Bmus and Mmusic degree in piano Performance and Pedagogy Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Bratislava, National Diploma in Piano Performance from National Conservatoire of Music Kosice.
In 2008 Andrea was awarded Bursary Award for Dartington Summer School and the Alfred Kitchin Scholarship at Trinity College of Music and represented her college at the Gerald Moore Award competition for vocal accompanists.
Gareth is a professional accompanist to several local ballet schools. He enjoys competitive running and playing jazz.
